Operator: Air Afrique

Air Afrique was conceived as a joint Air France UAT subsidiary after the 2 airlines had integrated their services. Operations started in June 1961 on the domestic network, and in October 1961 the first international service was flown with a L-1649A leased from Air France in Air Afrique colors. 2 Starliners were TU- registered and another 3 were occasionally operated in Air France colors. In March 1963 the Starliners were replaced by Douglas DC-8s.
