The company was founded in 1964 as a non scheduled operator for passenger and freight charter services in Europe, Africa, the Middle and Far east. In 1964 4 ex Air France L-1049Gs were purchased. During 1968 – 1969 many charter flights were carried out on the behalf of the French Government and French Red Cross in Biafra. End of 1969 Air Frêt sold all but one its airworthy Constellations and the company continued with this, a L-1049G, and a DC-7B/F with freight charters . The sole L-1049G continued in service until August 1976 as the last commercially registered Connie in Europe. Air Frêt ceased operations in February 1982.
