Euravia (London) – formed on 1 December 1961 as independent airline to focus in the operation of ITs with financial backing of Universal Sky Tours. Three Connies, two 049 and one 149, were purchased from El Al and converted to high-density 82 seaters by the Israeli Aircraft Industries (IAI). The first Air craft was delivered on 12 April 1962 and entered service on 5 May. By 15 May, all three aircraft were in service. On 1 September 1962, Skyways of London with their fleet of three 749A Freighters and 3 Yorks was acquired. By 5 October Skyways’ operations had been integrated and medium to long-haul passenger and freight charters were also added.
